New Duolingo ABC iOS App Will Teach Kids How to Read
Duolingo is an extremely popular language-learning platform with no ads that provides almost a hundred courses in more than twenty languages, including Spanish, English, German, Japanese, Italian, Korean, etc.
The other day, the company surprised its users by introducing a brand-new free app designed specifically for young kids. Duolingo is launching Duolingo ABC, an app that will help teach kids how to read.
The app will be aimed at youngsters who are 3-6 years old, providing brief classes that will help teach phonics, the alphabet, and sight phrases. The company says that Duolingo ABC features more than three hundred bite-sized lessons that cover the fundamentals of writing and reading skills. Kids will be asked to spell words, trace their names, choose objects starting with a particular letter, and do other fun, entertaining, and educational activities.
Duolingo is launching the new app a bit earlier than it was expected because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic to help parents teach their children at home while most of the schools are closed.
For now, the app is only available for iOS devices and residents of the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. However, the company promises to add support for other languages and operating systems later. The app will be completely free and will feature neither ads nor in-app purchases.
