Nothing Launches Its Latest Wireless Earbuds Nothing Ear (2)

London-based British consumer tech company Nothing, founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, introduced its second-generation flagship noise-canceling true wireless earbuds Ear (2) certified for high-resolution audio streaming. The new product retained the signature "transparent" design of its predecessor, the Ear (1) earbuds that were launched in 2021, but received several internal improvements.

Nothing Ear (2) support a hi-res LHDC 5.0 codec that ensures enhanced audio streaming, with each earbud capable of transmitting frequencies up to 24 bit/192 kHz at speeds of up to 1 Mbps. The earbuds also offer adaptive active noise cancelation, which filters out unwanted noise (up to 40dB) based on your specific ear profile and surroundings.

The 33mAh batteries of the earbuds can last up to 4 hours with active noise cancelation (ANC) and 6 hours and 20 minutes when it is deactivated. A battery life with the charging case increased to 36 hours when ANC is not active (22.5 hours when it is). Fast charging each earbud for 10 minutes is enough for up to 8 hours of listening with ANC off.

In addition, Ear (2) feature better water and sweat resistance. The earbuds are IP54 rated, and the case is IP55, while Nothing Ear (1) had IPX4.

Nothing has also added multi-device connectivity to the Ear (2), meaning that you can now connect the earbuds to two devices at the same time and automatically switch between them. Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity is present. The Nothing Ear (2) also support Google Fast Pair for quick connections with devices or PCs.

The new product is only available in white for $149.
