Summary of Trump’s Announcement Regarding Elimination of the ISIS Leader
“Al-Baghdadi Died like a Dog. He Died like a Coward”
As Tramp states in his latest speech, last night, the USA brought the world’s number-one terrorist to justice.
Here are some of the bullet point from the speech:
- Capturing or killing the ISIS leader was one of the top priorities of Trump’s administration.
- During the raid, none of the US Special Operations Forces personnel were lost.
- Donald Trump described the whole operation in great detail: first, US Special Forces landed in Barisha village, northwestern Syria. When Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s whereabouts were established, eleven young children were moved out of the house and remained uninjured. Baghdadi attempted to escape through the dead-end tunnel, however, unsuccessfully.
- As the dogs chased the terrorist down, he ignited his suicide vest, killing himself and his three children.
- The body of the world’s number-one terrorist was mutilated by the blast and the tunnel debris, but test results gave certain identification it was Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Trump seized the opportunity to recall the previous “world’s number-one terrorist” Osama bin Laden who was killed by the United States Navy SEALs in Pakistan. In 2011, Barack Obama solemnly announced the death of the largest at that time terror network’s leader. Trump tweeted, though, that it was not the president’s success.
Nonetheless, when speaking of the similar operation of the Special Forces, Donald Trump is constantly making the “I” statements. “I've been looking for him for three years”, he said about the ISIS leader.
What we know about the new Islamic State leader
The Islamic State militants have appointed a new leader following the death of al-Baghdadi. The new leader is Abdullah Qardash (Hajji Abdullah al-Afari). Al-Baghdadi has appointed Qardash as his successor in 2019. Qardash is a former officer of the Iraqi Armed Forces who once served in the army of Saddam Hussein, former president of Iraq.
