The More Followers You Have, the Less Ads You See: Twitter Admits Being Wrong
Following the information about the company’s rapidly falling income, Twitter has an intention to offer more extensive audience outreach to the advertisers.
Twitter executives have admitted that famous bloggers and users with lots of followers used to see fewer ads than the rest of the users on the platform. This tricky feature was supposed to encourage popular users to keep using Twitter.
A Twitter spokesperson stated that, historically, users with a large number of followers used to see fewer ads and recently the company has changed its approach. That is why users can notice more ads than in the past.
The changes gave some users a bone to pick. The owners of popular accounts have noted that they’ve been seeing more ads on the platform recently, which is the direct result of the new Twitter policy.
