Education with TikTok
In India, a new section has appeared on the popular social network called TikTok. It will help users with self-education by way of educational videos that will be published in the new tab.
The social platform is used by more than 200 million users in India per month. It says that its education program is aimed at “democratizing learning for the Indian digital community on the platform.”
The authors of the educational content are the users themselves, publishing videos under special hashtags #EduTok. The section itself is divided into four categories, including “Language Courses,” “Art Courses,” “Science Courses,” and “Interior Courses.” The innovation was created due to the growing popularity of educational content in the application.
Sachin Sharma, director of Sales and Partnerships at TikTok, said the social app’s foray into education is a response to the demand it has seen from users. At a press conference in New Delhi, he said that educational videos are some of the most popular and engaging videos on the platform globally.
In recent months, more than 10 million educational videos have been created and shared on TikTok, where they have garnered more than 48 billion views, Sharma claimed.
