Pantone’s 2024 Color of the Year Reflects Human Compassion and Connection
In a world marked by global conflicts and increasing stress, Pantone has unveiled its color of the year for 2024, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz. This gentle and nurturing peach shade serves as a poignant reminder to slow down and care for ourselves and one another.
The name Peach Fuzz encapsulates the tactile sensuality associated with the color—a velvety texture reminiscent of peaches, soft marabou feathers, and smooth vintage satins and silks, blending hues of pink and orange.
Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, believes that Peach Fuzz perfectly encapsulates the current moment, reflecting the fundamental human needs and desires that have become more pronounced during these challenging times.
"As we enter 2024, some of the things that have become especially apparent to us is the concept of lifestyle taking on new meaning," Eiseman told TIME. "We've been living in this time of turmoil in many aspects of our lives, and as a result of that, our need for nurturing, empathy, and compassion continues to grow stronger as we imagine a more peaceful future."
Eiseman emphasizes that this delicate shade draws us to the human experience, placing a strong emphasis on the importance of health and wellness for the mind, body, and soul. From the warm colors of a sunrise or sunset to the coziness of a fuzzy blanket, Peach Fuzz reaffirms moments of inner tranquility, as well as the deep-seated need for community, gathering, and connection.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Pantone's Color of the Year program. As we enter a new year, Pantone's Peach Fuzz reminds us of the power of color to convey a meaningful message, one that speaks to our collective desire for peace, compassion, and connection.
