Wikipedia is 20 years old, and there’s no one or nothing schoolchildren and students around the world would congratulate as sincerely. After all, Wikipedia helped them graduate, became their library and best friend. Zoomers cannot even imagine how people lived in those dark times when Wikipedia was not yet invented.
Today, on January 15, Wikipedia celebrates its 20th anniversary. On this day in 2001, as Wikipedia writes about itself, it began its work. Launched by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger, Wikipedia is now considered the largest and most popular reference book on the Internet.
Twitter users sincerely congratulated their favorite resource, but this is not just a tribute. For many, Wikipedia was a faithful friend on the way to education and really helped get it.
