Twitter Will Test Its New Feature by Letting Users Limit or Disable Replies in Order to Combat Abuse
At this year’s CES in Las Vegas, Twitter announced its new feature that the company is planning to test. It is intended to make Twitter a safer and more friendly place will less harassment and abuse.
Soon, the users will be able to have more control over their reply settings. They will get a new setting for “conversation participants” that will appear on the compose screen. It will have four options:
- Global: anyone can reply to your tweets.
- Group: people you follow and mention can reply to your tweets.
- Panel: people you mention can reply to your tweets.
- Statement: no one can reply to your tweets.
“We want to help people feel safe participating in the conversation on Twitter by giving them more control over the conversations they start,” the company says.
There’s no information as to the exact date of the feature rollout, but it will be launched globally later this year.
