Black Friday is basically just a reenactment of the storming of the Bastille 🙄 On July 14, 1789, a force of about 1,000 peasants, 61 French Guards, and 5 artillery men the Parisian political prison known as the Bastille. The main cause of the peasant revolt was economic due to a failed wheat crop season. While 98% of the population was starving, the 2nd Estate enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle. The Bastille, which held seven political prisoners, was stormed as a symbol against the French aristocracy. While 98 members of the civilians died during the insurgence, the storming of the Bastille was seen as a watershed moment in the French Revolution since it motivates the 3rd Estate to revolt against the aristocracy. Today, July 14 is celebrated in France as their national day. #apeuro #europe #euro #euromemes #history #historymeme #historymemes #france #french #frenchmemes #frenchrevolution #bastille #bastilleday #3rdestate #blackfriday #blackfridaymemes #blackfriday2018 #July14 #frenchday #july141789 #july #4 #1789 #18thcentury #1700s
