Apple Launches Apple Intelligence in Public Beta
Apple has unveiled its new AI-powered service, Apple Intelligence, through public betas of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1. This innovative suite of AI features includes text rewriting tools, enhanced Siri functionality, and a photo editing tool called "Clean Up," allowing users to remove objects from images.
Currently, Apple Intelligence is available in U.S. English and can be accessed on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, the iPhone 16 lineup, iPads, and Macs with M1 chips or newer. Apple plans to expand language support and introduce more features, such as voice transcription and image generation, in future updates.
The public beta can be accessed by registering on Apple's beta software program website, with a full release expected in October.
Key features include improved Siri that allows for more natural conversation and cross-app functionality, as well as Writing Tools that assist with text summaries, email drafting, and style adjustments. Apple also assures users that AI data processing will prioritize privacy, with much of the work being done on-device.
