WhatsApp Enhances Channel Features with Voice Updates and Polls
WhatsApp is enhancing its channel feature, allowing channel owners to engage with their followers in new ways. The standout addition is the ability to send voice messages within channels, tapping into the app's popularity for voice messaging, with 7 billion voice messages sent daily.
Channel owners can also now post polls, offering an interactive way to gauge audience opinions. Furthermore, channel updates can be shared as personal WhatsApp Status updates, similar to Instagram's feature, providing a convenient way for channel admins to inform their network about new content.
In addition, WhatsApp is increasing the maximum number of channel administrators from one to up to 16, allowing more capacity for effective management.
The new features are rolling out globally and will be available to all users in the coming days. This expansion of channel capabilities aims to enhance engagement and provide users with more interactive content within the platform. WhatsApp's channel feature has gained significant popularity, with over 500 million monthly users.
