The Second Digital-Only Apple Event Will Be Held on October 13
Apple has sent out invitations to the next major presentation on the highly anticipated next-generation iPhone. The event will start at 10:00 AM PDT on October 13.
The same date appeared in several unofficial insider reports the day before. This time the slogan has the abstract phrase "Hi, Speed."
The latest rumors indicate that Apple will extend the mini label to the iPhone lineup this year. The 5,4-inch 2020 iPhone model will be called the iPhone 12 mini. In addition to the iPhone 12 mini, three more models are expected in the 2020 iPhone lineup. The base iPhone 12 with a 6,1-inch screen and two Pro versions: 6,1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6,7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
According to preliminary data, all new iPhones will receive an updated design with flat edges like the latest iPad Pro and iPad Air models have, OLED displays, 5nm SoC A14, and support for 5G.
At the same time, recent reports indicated that none of the iPhone 12 models would receive a ProMotion screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and all of them will remain with 60 Hz screens. The older iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max models, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max counterparts, will boast a triple camera with lidar, while the younger ones will be equipped with dual cameras.
The new iPhones are also expected to have no headphones or power adapter in the box. Earlier, Apple removed the adapter from the new Apple Watch package, making an exception only for the more expensive editions, like Apple Watch Hermès.
At the presentation on October 13, we should expect other announcements. The list of potential innovations that can be shown along with the new iPhones includes the first models of MacBook based on ARM processors of Apple’s own design, new AirPods, a more compact and affordable HomePod speaker, AirTags location-tracking tags, and an AirPower charging station.
