Finally, the first Apple Event with the presentation of the company’s new products took place. We remind you that the new generation of iPhones will be presented in October. For now, the company introduced a new Apple Watch, an iPad, and bundled subscription services Apple One.
Cupertinians called the new iPad Air the most powerful iPad Air in history because it has a fresh 6-core Apple A14 Bionic processor, made using a 5nm process technology.
In terms of the processor, compared to Apple A13, the increase in performance is 40%. In terms of graphics, it’s 30%. Besides, the new processor includes a 16-core Neural Engine, which is twice as fast as the previous one.
The new iPad Air has a bigger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display (2360 x 1640) and is fully laminated with True Tone support and anti-reflective coating. Also, Apple has moved the Touch ID fingerprint sensor to the power button at the top. It makes this iPad the first iPad with biometrics built into the power button.
Among other things, there is a 7MP FaceTime HD front camera and a 12MP rear main camera. Like the iPad Pro, it allows you to take clear pictures and record 4K video.
Unlike the previous generation, the new iPad Air works with Apple Pencil 2 and supports Smart Keyboard Folio and Magic Keyboard. You will have to buy it separately.
The new iPad Air without a mobile module will cost $599 for 64 GB, and $749 for 256 GB of storage, and the model with LTE will have a price of $729 and $879, respectively. New items will be on sale in October this year.
The novelty will be available in five colors: Space Gray, Silver, Rose Gold, Sky Blue, and Green.
Also, Apple presented a 10.2-inch iPad of the 8th generation, which is the entry-level device. It has a Retina display and an A12 Bionic processor with entry-level Neural Engine processing.
The new iPad is made entirely of recycled aluminum. Apple emphasizes that the new product does not contain harmful substances, and even the box is made of renewable wood fiber.
Like the new iPad Air, the budget tablet supports Magic Keyboard, Smart Keyboard Folio, and Apple Pencil.
Apple's new eighth-generation iPad will be available in 32GB and 128GB models. The base version is priced at $329 ($459 for an LTE configuration). For educational institutions, there is a discounted price of $299.
