Apple Has Officially Announced the Date for Its "Spring Loaded" Presentation
Apple has officially announced that it will be holding a spring event called "Spring Loaded" on April 20, which is expected to feature the highly anticipated AirTags, an updated iPad Pro, and possibly other surprises. The 2021 spring presentation is slated to kick off at 10 AM PDT.
There's also a teaser posted on Twitter by Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president. The video shows colorful curls floating inside the corporate headquarters.
Apple traditionally does not disclose the details about the products it shows at its presentation. Therefore, all we can do is rely on the opinion of analysts and leaks.
According to the available data, the iPad will probably be in the spotlight. Apple is expected to unveil the new iPad Pro in two options: one with an 11-inch diagonal and one with a 12.9-inch diagonal. Both models will share the same design as the previous generation devices, but the new iPad Pro will be the first in the lineup to feature a mini-LED display. These iPad Pros will get Thunderbolt, an improved camera, and a new A14X processor. The latter is on par with the M1 chip in the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini.
According to rumors, Apple is also planning to present an iPad mini Pro with an 8.7-inch display and no Touch ID Home button. In addition, there are rumors of an iPad mini with a mini-LED screen. Apple may also introduce an inexpensive iPad with a 10.2-inch display.
Apple is also working on a new version of the AirPods 3, similar to the AirPods Pro. The company may also introduce a 24-inch iMac with an M1 processor and in a variety of color options. It will receive a new design, as well as a silicon chip and a graphics processor from Apple. The company may also present the long-awaited AirTags. These wireless location tracking tags can help you track the location of things through the Find My app.
Also, it is likely that Apple will show the next-generation Apple TV at its spring presentation on Tuesday.
Before the official announcement from Apple, Siri voice assistant revealed the date of the company's April presentation. Siri was simply asked, "When is the next Apple event" and it answered, "On April 20."
The presentation will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic. The online broadcast of the event can be viewed live on the official website, in the Apple TV app, and on the company's YouTube channel:
If you go to the event page on the official Apple website using an iPhone or iPad, you can see a version of the presentation announcement in augmented reality. If you click on the image, the event logo will turn into an augmented reality element, adjusting to the user's room.
