YouTube Introduces 'Hype' Button and New Tools for Creators
YouTube has unveiled a series of new features aimed at supporting smaller creators and enhancing the platform's creative ecosystem. At the Made on YouTube event, the company announced tools designed to help creators boost their visibility, streamline content creation, and build stronger connections with their audiences.
One of the most exciting additions is the 'Hype' button, which allows viewers to promote videos by smaller creators, helping them climb a weekly leaderboard. Available only for channels with fewer than 500,000 subscribers, viewers can hype videos in the first seven days after release, with each user limited to three hypes per week. The feature is designed to give fans a direct role in supporting creators, with the top-hyped videos gaining visibility and special badges on the platform.
YouTube also introduced automatic dubbing, enabling videos to be automatically dubbed into multiple languages, expanding creators' reach globally. Additionally, a new Inspiration tab in YouTube Studio will assist creators in generating video ideas, titles, and thumbnails. A new Veo-powered video generation feature allows users to create short, AI-generated video clips up to six seconds long, marked with a watermark to indicate AI involvement.
