The Irish Data Protection Commission (IDPC), the primary regulatory body overseeing data in the EU, has demanded more information from Google regarding how the generative AI chatbot safeguards privacy before granting approval for its launch.

The European Commission has approved Microsoft's acquisition of Nuance Communications, the company whose speech recognition technology was used in Apple's Siri voice assistant. The acquisition cost is $16 billion.

By filing a new antitrust complaint with the European Union, Epic Games expanded the territory of its ongoing fight with Apple. The new complaint follows similar legal action in the UK, US, and Australia.

EU Commission demanded that the Irish government levy unpaid taxes from Apple in the amount of €13 billion ($14,9 billion). Apple CEO Tim Cook called the EU decision "total political crap."

Following Spotify, Rakuten, Epic Games, and Tinder, Telegram messenger also filed a formal antitrust complaint with the EU against Apple's App Store.

The assembly of ITER, the largest research technology project in history, started in France. More than $25 billion have already been spent on it. The completion of the construction of the complex and its test launch are expected no earlier than in 2025.

China will impose retaliatory restrictions on the two largest European telecommunication-equipment manufacturers, Nokia and Ericsson, if the European Union prohibits Huawei 5G networks in the EU.
