As summer winds down, the Hamilton County Health Department is rolling out the red carpet for families in Chattanooga. On Thursday, July 24, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, join the excitement at 921 E 3rd Street for a back-to-school open house sure to delight and benefit the whole family.

A Community Event with Heart

Beka Bohannon, the newly appointed leader of the Health Department, expressed genuine enthusiasm for the event. “We are excited to welcome families back into our building for the second year of this wonderful event,” she shared. “This year, we have expanded the event to make it bigger and better than ever.”

Free Services and More

Families can expect a range of free services including vaccine records, pediatric vaccines, and dental clinic scheduling. There will be free backpacks filled with school supplies, food from local food trucks, and even snow cones available—while supplies last, of course!

Resources for Everyone

In addition to health services, the event will feature resources from community partners such as La Paz, Erlanger, Chatt 2.0, and Family Justice Center. Bilingual staff will be on site to assist families as needed, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.

An Afternoon of Fun and Support

With the aim of helping families start the school year healthier and more prepared, the Health Department promises a fun-filled afternoon where kids can enjoy treats and parents can gather crucial health and school-ready information.

For more details, visit the Health Department’s website or call them at 423-209-9000. As stated in Local 3 News, free interpretation services are available at all clinics.
