Samsung has revealed its latest smartwatch series, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, during the summer Unpacked event. Building on the success of previous models, the Galaxy Watch 6 series runs on Wear OS 4 and offers deeper integration with the Galaxy ecosystem. Notably, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic brings back the beloved rotating mechanical bezel.
The Galaxy Watch 6 series comes in various sizes, with the base version available in 40mm and 44mm, while the classic version offers 43mm and 47mm. Both models feature an IP68 water resistance rating and MIL-STD-810H certification for durability against shocks.
With a focus on health and fitness, the Galaxy Watch 6 series includes advanced sleep tracking capabilities, personalized heart rate zones, and over 100 workout tracking options. The watches offer insights into sleep patterns and provide personalized tips to improve sleep quality.
The enhanced display is 20% larger, making reading and texting easier, and the watches come with a more vibrant Super AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The watches are powered by the Exynos W930 processor, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
The Galaxy Watch 6 series is available for pre-order starting July 26, with general availability from August 11. Prices start at $299.99 for the Galaxy Watch 6 and $399.99 for the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.
