Nineteen years ago, on September 11, 2001, the largest and one of the most terrifying terrorist attacks in the history of humankind took place in the United States.

On September 11, 2001, members of the transnational extremist organization Al-Qaeda hijacked four civilian airliners in the United States and flew them to the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon building in Washington. The terrorist attack became not only the largest in the history of the United States, but also the first catastrophe in world history to be broadcasted live – millions of people around the world watched the course of events for several hours.

Even though the chronology of September 11 has been studied literally by the minute, over 19 years, the terrorist attacks have acquired a huge number of myths and conspiracy theories.

Theory 1: Nostradamus predicted the attack

Among the predictions of the great seer is this:

In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos,
while the fortress endures,
the great leader will succumb.
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning.

However, in fact, the last line was not written by Nostradamus, but by Canadian student Neil Marshall in 1997 in an essay about the seer. In his work, he showed how abstract language could become the basis for "prophecy."

Theory 2: Instead of an airplane, there was a rocket

The attack on the Pentagon killed a total of 189 people. Since there was no clear wreckage of the plane in the photo, the conspiracy theorists decided that a missile or a military plane had crashed into the Pentagon.

Theory 3: Flight 93 was shot down by the military or a mysterious white plane

Flight 93 was the fourth passenger plane to crash in the United States that day. A white plane flying at a low altitude immediately after the plane crash was seen by many eyewitnesses and then began to associate this with the crash of Flight 93.

Theory 4: Four thousand Israelis did not show up for work. Is it a coincidence?

The theory is that 4,000 people with Israeli/Jewish roots who worked at the World Trade Center stayed home after a warning from Israeli security forces.
