Launching a New Era of Clean Sport Education
The International Testing Agency (ITA) and the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF) announce a significant collaboration to combat doping through education, setting a new standard for integrity in sport. This initiative promises to enhance anti-doping education worldwide, underpinning the vital role of athlete health and fair play in sport.
A Unified Front Against Doping
On October 21, 2024, ARISF’s General Assembly ratified a pivotal decision requiring its members to entrust the ITA with their anti-doping programs. This strategic move ensures independence and expertise in the global fight against doping and marks a notable shift towards comprehensive anti-doping management.
Crafting Tailored Education Strategies
With the roll-out planned for 2025, the ITA will introduce a customized education strategy aligned with the International Standard for Education (ISE). This aims to enable ARISF members to fulfill their World Anti-Doping Code obligations, promoting sustainable educational frameworks within international sporting communities. According to International Testing Agency, this endeavor will empower member federations to pioneer clean sport programs and reinforce education that adheres to global standards.
Building Expertise Through the ICSE Program
A cornerstone of this collaboration is the International Clean Sport Educator (ICSE) program, targeting the development of qualified educators. Participants, selected by their federations, will engage in a comprehensive training curriculum featuring online modules, expert-led sessions, and peer meetings. This education empowerment is poised to create a cadre of informed leaders capable of driving effective anti-doping education across global sports communities.
Spreading Knowledge with Multilingual Webinars
Complementing the ICSE program is the new multilingual webinar series, titled ‘IF Series.’ Engaging experts will lead these sessions, covering critical topics and promoting interaction. Delivered with real-time translation in major world languages, these webinars ensure broad accessibility and inclusivity, culminating in official certification for participants.
True Commitment to Clean Sport
“This partnership addresses our mission to deliver uncompromised, accessible clean sport education,” expressed ITA Director General Benjamin Cohen, emphasizing the collaboration’s significance. Echoing this, ARISF President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli highlighted education’s role in fostering sport’s integrity, aligning the initiative with their strategic frameworks for impactful actions.
Together, the ITA and ARISF are set to spearhead a global culture of clean sport, underpinned by strategic alliances and dedicated leadership in educational excellence.
