This engaging event, held in alignment with the 2025 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, embraced the theme, “The Evidence Is Clear: Invest In Prevention.”

A Collaborative Sporting Initiative

The M.KO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta recently became a bustling hub of energy and sportsmanship as various law enforcement teams, including the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police Force, So-Safe Corps, Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), came together in this honorable event. The camaraderie and shared mission enhanced their unity and commitment to combatting drug abuse effectively.

Achievements in Drug Interceptions

Ogun State’s NDLEA Commander, Tijjani Rabe, highlighted remarkable successes achieved in the battle against drug trafficking from the 2024 World Drug Day celebration to date. Among the confiscated substances were 18,718.547kg of Cannabis, 897.10 liters of Skuches, and significant amounts of Methamphetamine, Cocaine, and Tramadol.

The Thrilling Finale

The tournament culminated in a gripping final match, with the Nigeria Police team showcasing their football prowess, defeating the NYSC team by a landslide score of 5 to 1. This victory symbolized the collaborative spirit and effective teamwork among these law enforcement bodies.
