Google has officially begun rolling out Android 15 to Pixel devices, introducing a suite of new features aimed at enhancing security, privacy, and multitasking capabilities. The update brings an advanced Theft Detection Lock, which uses AI to protect data by automatically locking the phone if it senses it's being stolen. Users can also remotely lock their phones using a phone number and a security check.
One of the standout additions is the Private Space feature, which allows users to hide sensitive apps like banking and social media behind an additional layer of authentication. These apps remain invisible in the app list and notifications until unlocked.
For foldables and tablets, Android 15 offers improved multitasking tools, including a customizable taskbar and app pairing, enabling users to open two apps simultaneously for easier file transfers.
The update also brings enhanced low-light camera performance, better flash control for third-party apps, and support for satellite messaging in carrier apps for those out of network range.
