Samsung united with Visa and First Data Company, which are the global providers of payments and financial services. The cooperation of these companies launched the Software Point of Sale (SoftPOS).
Can you imagine that now with SoftPOS via Samsung smartphone or tablet you can make payments of any amount like in terminal? It is even better than the future flying cars!
It will be available on each phone with embedded near-field communication (NFC) functionality. The merchant’s phone will accept contactless transactions from existing contactless cards, other NFC-enabled mobile phones.
Test mode started in Poland; the official launch is waiting at the end of 2019. The pilot program will expand after that in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) regions.

The SoftPOS demo showcase is presented at the Messe Berlin Exhibition Grounds from 6 – 11 September.
