Joker immediately received 11 nominations, including all the main ones: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor. It is just the second film based on comics’ characters that nominated for the main award (the first was Black Panther), and the first comic book movie to outperform all other competitors in one year.

Three films at once shared the second place of the rating, collecting ten nominations each: Irishman, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, and 1917. The Korean film called Parasite scored much less (only six nominations), but those of the highest quality: Best Picture, Best International Feature Film, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
