Elon Musk has officially announced the creation of his own artificial intelligence (AI) company, xAI, with a mission to "understand the true nature of the universe" and compete with leading AI giants like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google.

The news of Musk's plans to start a new AI venture came out a few months ago in April, with reports indicating that Musk was planning to launch his own startup focused on AI development. Now, xAI has unveiled itself with a new website detailing its mission and team.

The website states that xAI is a separate company but will closely collaborate with X Corp (Twitter), Tesla, and other companies to achieve its mission of understanding reality. The team behind xAI is headed by Elon Musk and comprises members with previous experience at major AI organizations like OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, and DeepMind.

Elon Musk Expects Neuralink to Start Its First Human Trial This Year
The first volunteers for the trials will be patients suffering from limb mobility issues. Neuralink obtained the necessary regulatory approval from authorities in the United States last month to conduct brain implant surgeries.

Musk has a history of involvement in AI ventures, having co-founded OpenAI in 2015. He later stepped down in 2018 to avoid conflicts of interest with his work at Tesla, which is also heavily involved in AI. Since then, Musk has been critical of OpenAI and has mentioned his efforts in building "TruthGPT."
