The Game Awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of the gaming world," has unveiled its nominees for the highly anticipated 2023 ceremony. Hosted by Canadian game journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley, this year's awards ceremony promises to be one of the biggest gaming events of the year.

Leading the pack with an impressive eight nominations each are Alan Wake 2 and Baldur's Gate 3. These titles are vying for the coveted Game of the Year award alongside other esteemed franchises like Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

What sets The Game Awards apart is its recognition of various aspects of game development. Categories include Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, and Best Performance. In the Best Adaptation category, this year's nominees include Castlevania: Nocturne (Netflix), Gran Turismo (Sony Pictures), The Last of Us (HBO), The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Illumination/Universal Pictures), and Twisted Metal (Peacock).

The ceremony will be streamed live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on December 7, 2023, at 4:30 PM PT.
