In Handy Tips, we find ways to improve your life and make it easier and explain why these tips work. Today, we will tell you how to make your own iPhone or iPad teleprompter in less than 10 minutes.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, not everyone decided to return to the office, so Zoom meetings have become a routine for some. If you are planning to make a presentation or give a speech, Zoom is the perfect place for this. Here you can cheat: not read what is written on the screen and not try to come up with something on the go, but prepare a speech in advance and read it out. TV presenters and politicians do this, but the camera does not usually capture teleprompters, therefore the effect of their speeches is more noticeable.

All you need is a smartphone. If you have Android, you can search the word “Teleprompter” in the Google Play Store and download any of the most popular applications. The functionality is identical for all of them. If you have iOS, then it's even easier: Apple suspected such a case and provided the Pages application with the needed functionality (it's an analog of Word, and it's free for all iOS device owners).

  • Open the document with the text of the speech.
  • Click on the button with three dots in the top line.
  • Select Presenter Mode.
  • After that, you can go to the settings and enable automatic scrolling. To start and stop it, you can click anywhere on the screen.

Apple even made a special video showing how to do this on the iPad. This is done identically on the iPhone.
