WhatsApp has unveiled a new feature allowing users to organize their chats into customizable lists, making it easier to keep track of important conversations. This addition builds on the chat filters released in April, which only included options for “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups.” Now, users can create tailored lists for categories like family, work, or school friends.
To create a custom list, users can tap the “+” icon in the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab, name the list, and add one-on-one or group chats. Users can also edit lists by long-pressing on them. While WhatsApp will continue to default to the “All” chats view, users can swipe through the filter bar to access their lists.
The feature is rolling out gradually and will be available to all users in the coming weeks. This update aims to streamline chat navigation and help users focus on their most relevant conversations.
