Sony has unveiled its upcoming gaming innovation, the PlayStation Portal remote player, set to hit the market later this year at a price of $199.99. This portable device offers a unique experience by streaming PS5 games over Wi-Fi.

Equipped with an eight-inch LCD screen delivering 1080p resolution at 60fps, the PlayStation Portal enables gamers to transition seamlessly between playing on their PS5 console and the handheld device.

With an interface resembling the PS5 DualSense controller, the PlayStation Portal ensures a familiar gaming experience with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. It can run supported games already installed on the PS5 console and boasts a dedicated media section on its homescreen.

However, it won't support games streamed through PS Plus Premium's cloud streaming. To provide optimal streaming, Sony recommends an internet connection of 15Mbps for the best experience.

Sony to Globally Launch Its PS5 Access Controller This December
Sony’s Access controller aims to empower gamers with disabilities, allowing them to play more comfortably for longer. The company has worked closely with accessibility organizations and experts to ensure inclusivity in gaming.

Sony also unveiled a new line of wireless headsets and earbuds, the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore, that offer premium audio quality. Although the PlayStation Portal doesn't support Bluetooth, the device will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio.
