The ability to record a telephone conversation appeared in version 44 of the Google Phone app that became available on Google Play on the evening of January 28. Google has not announced this feature yet, though.
At startup, you can see the dialog box warning you that when using the recording, you are responsible for complying with all laws.
What Do You Need to Do to Activate This Feature?
Firstly, of course, the consent of both parties to the conversation.
What Is Interesting About It?
The application notifies users about the beginning and end of the recording. Thus, Google expects to prevent the use of this feature in secret from another person.
The main feature of the Google Phone app is the transcription of these entries for their further search by keywords. However, testing this feature is not possible by now, most likely because it has not been fully implemented yet.
It is assumed that call recording will fully work on Pixel and Android One smartphones. Still, we don't know for sure whether this feature will appear for other devices.
