Studio Insomniac Games has confirmed that the recently announced Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be an independent title for the PlayStation 5, refuting rumors that it will be based on the original Spider-Man for PS4. However, the gameplay of the new part of the adventures of Spider-Man will be shorter than in the original.
The confusion arose from a comment by Simon Rutter, Executive Vice President of the European office of Sony Interactive Entertainment, who said that this title would be an extension of the original game. However, he added later that although Spider-Man: Miles Morales uses a lot of components from the original part, the game has undergone significant improvements in the gameplay and graphics – they all correspond to the necessary technologies and capabilities of the future PlayStation 5.
Insomniac Games confirmed Rutter's words, saying that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a separate game that continues the adventures of Spider-Man.
