On September 22, all admirers of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien's books celebrate Hobbit Day. It is the birthday of the hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, the characters of the famous book. The holiday is unofficial, but this does not prevent it from being loved by admirers of Tolkien's works.

The author himself indicated the date of births of Bilbo and Frodo in his books. Celebration traditions are in many ways similar to the celebration of Bilbo Baggins' birthday described in the Lord of the Rings trilogy: a big party, a lot of delicious food, dancing, music and, of course, fireworks. At the same time, the celebrants come to the party barefoot, imitating the hobbits.
