Millions of WhatsApp users can delete the messenger in 2020. Starting December 31, 2019, WhatsApp will end its support of the devices running Windows Mobile operating system.

From February 1, 2020, it will be impossible to use WhatsApp on devices with iOS 8 and older, as well as with Android 2.3.7 and older. The owners of such smartphones already cannot create new accounts in the messenger and verify their old ones.

WhatsApp said, “Because we no longer actively develop for these operating systems, some features might stop functioning at any time.”

The Facebook-owned messenger will continue to provide support for devices running Android 4.0.3 onwards and iPhones running iOS 9 and onwards. WhatsApp will continue to work on devices with iOS 9 and newer, as well as with Android 4.0.3 and newer.
