Huawei's next flagship smartphone will not have Google's popular apps, including Maps and YouTube.
Due to the US government embargo on sales to Huawei, it could not license Google apps to the Chinese smartphone giant.
That's why Huawei customers will stay without access to other popular apps with next Huawei phones. The Mate 30 is the first Huawei product, which faced with this decision. The presentation of the flagship smartphone will be soon in Munich, and the foldable Mate X will go on sale without Google products and services.
Analysts said that it is a significant loss for the Chinese company. Sales will drop more than 10 million Huawei units this year.
Huawei said in a statement: "Huawei will continue to use the Android OS and ecosystem if the US government allows us to do so. Otherwise, we will continue to develop our operating system and ecosystem."
It is possible to create Android devices without involving Google. For example, Amazon did it. In Amazon, you can buy Fire tablets, which go without Google apps.
Only a few weeks left, and Huawei will launch its next flagship phone, the Mate 30 Pro. But nobody understands what for you need premium smartphone without most-used apps in the world.
As said the founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei Huawei faces a "live-or-die moment".
