The recently released Half-Life: Alyx videogame was initially intended only for virtual reality headsets, such as Valve Index, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality. The release of this game provided a significant impetus to the advancement of the virtual reality genre. Based on Valve's information, it was possible to calculate that in April, Steam users added almost 950,000 virtual reality headsets. And it is a big difference compared to March.

The Introduction of Half-Life: Alyx, the Major VR Adventure Game
Valve has finally released Half-Life: Alyx, the first Half-Life game in almost 15 years that will only be playable in virtual reality.

But recently, the modder under the nickname Goutrial released a modification for Half-Life: Alyx, which changes the game into a familiar first-person shooter, thereby providing the ability to play it without a VR headset.

A Teacher Gives VR Math Lesson in Half-Life: Alyx
Charles Coomber, a teacher from San Diego, used Half-Life: Alyx to deliver an online math lesson, where he explained angle vocabulary by making use of the marker feature in the VR game.

Goutrial took weapons and animation models from Half-Life 2. The author of the mod also noted that gamers may have visual artifacts and other bugs in the game now. But, as the author claims, the plot and levels entirely resemble the original Half-Life: Alyx. This modification can be downloaded on Github.

The developer also noted that this mod still needs to be finalized and encouraged users not to evaluate the new product from Valve based on the results of using the mod.

Half-Life: Alyx was released on March 23 and became one of Valve's most highly rated games. On the popular Metacritic aggregator, the VR project has 93 points out of 100 possible, which not every ordinary game achieves.
