Instagram is rolling out a new feature allowing users to comment directly on Stories, offering a more interactive way to engage with posts. Previously, responses to Stories were limited to direct messages, but now, comments will be visible to followers for up to 24 hours — the same duration as the Story itself.

Users can control who can comment, with private accounts limiting comments to mutual followers and public accounts allowing anyone they follow to engage. Comments will appear as small profile icons at the bottom of the Story, letting users know that a post has feedback before viewing it.

This feature adds a new layer of interaction, alongside Instagram's recent updates like AI-generated backgrounds and interactive stickers for Stories. While the feature is still gradually being introduced, it’s set to increase engagement, making Stories a more prominent space for social interactions on the platform.
