The DoubleTake app that allows you to capture videos from two cameras at once has been released on the App Store.
Previously, developers demonstrated this feature through the FiLMiC Pro app. The FiLMiC Pro application is also popular among professional filmmakers. For example, Sean Baker's Tangerine film, shown at the Sundance Film Festival, was shot on three iPhones 5s using FiLMiC Pro. Now, the authors of one of the most popular camcorder applications for iOS and Android have released a new unique app for double shooting. You can download it from the App Store for free.
DoubleTake is available today for iOS 13 devices, but it is only supported on the last two generations of iPhones, which include the iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max.
At first, you need to choose which two cameras you would like to record from: the ultra-wide, wide, telephoto, or selfie camera. Any combination is possible.
DoubleTake’s Shooting Modes:
- The split-screen mode will split the screen in half. On one half, you can display the image from the front camera, and on the other – from one of the external ones. It is useful when recording a conversation.
- PiP, or Picture in Picture mode, fills the screen with one camera, with another small inside. This window can be moved around the screen as you like.
- The Discreet mode lets you capture images from the main and wide-angle cameras, which is especially useful to operators and cinematographers. Videos from cameras will be saved in two different files.
Many users have awaited the DoubleTake app. It is intended primarily for those who are fond of professional photography. For example, now, with its help, you can simultaneously shoot both yourself and your friends – just the way you like it.
