Amazon fired several employees because they shared email addresses and phone numbers of the company’s customers with third parties “in violation of Amazon policies.”

The company sent a letter to the victims of the leak, telling them about the dismissal of the guilty employees.

Amazon confirmed firing several employees, but did not disclose other relevant information: when and by whom the data was "leaked" and how many users were ultimately affected.

Earlier this week, Amazon announced that they fired four employees at Ring, the retail giant’s smart camera and doorbell subsidiaries. Dismissed employees were convicted of the fact that they remotely watched recordings from users’ cameras without their consent.
