The CD Projekt Red (CDPR) studio announced plans to release The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition designed for PC and next-generation PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles. The update will feature improved graphics along with technical characteristics, including ray tracing and faster load times.

“Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content,” said the developers.

The next-generation version of the popular RPG series will be released as a standalone purchase for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. However, those who already have the game on PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One will get the upgraded version for free. The upgrade will apply to the base game as well as to both its expansions and other content.

Back in June, CD Projekt Red already offered owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS4 and Xbox One consoles to get a free version of it for PC. In February, PC cross-saves to the Switch were enabled.

The Witcher Game Will Get an AR Mobile Spin-Off Monster Slayer
The Witcher: Monster Slayer lets players imagine themselves being professional monster hunters, tracking foul creatures, and taking them down with swords in augmented reality right through their smartphones.

No exact release date has been announced yet, but the upgraded game will arrive sometime in 2021.

Apart from The Witcher, the CDPR studio is also working on Cyberpunk 2077, the launch of which has already been postponed three times. The most anticipated game of the year is now set to launch on November 19, 2020, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
