Twitter, now rebranded as X, has unveiled two new subscription tiers aimed at enhancing the user experience and generating additional revenue. The first tier, called Premium+, is priced at $16 per month and offers subscribers an extensive range of benefits, including an ad-free experience, the ability to post longer content and videos, and encryption for private messages. The second tier, known as Basic, comes at $3 per month and provides a more modest boost to replies but includes features like tweet editing and longer posts.

Premium+ subscribers can enjoy an ad-free experience across their For You and Following feeds. This subscription also includes access to various creator tools. On the other hand, Basic subscribers will receive a smaller reply boost but gain the ability to edit their tweets, post longer text and videos, and access encrypted direct messages.

Twitter Rebrands Itself as X as the Blue Bird Logo Disappears
The new X logo, stylized in black and white, has replaced the bird logo both on the web and mobile versions. Musk envisions the new X platform as an “everything app” that will combine communication, multimedia exchange, and financial transactions.

Both new subscription tiers are currently available exclusively on the web. The standard Premium subscription, priced at $8 per month, includes features like a blue checkmark, prioritized reply rankings, bookmark folders, text formatting, themes, two-factor authentication via SMS, and encrypted direct messages.

Twitter, Now X, to Add Voice and Video Calls to the Platform
This expansion is part of X’s broader strategy to become a multifunctional platform. X has already taken steps to broaden its offerings, such as allowing subscribers to upload videos up to two hours long and paying content creators with a substantial following.

These new subscription options come as X looks to diversify its revenue streams, particularly in the face of declining advertising revenue.
