“In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments,” the book reads. “Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely.”

In addition, the predictions of Nostradamus and Baba Vanga became popular again. The blind Bulgarian clairvoyant Vanga said: “In the year of the mirror the old disease will come to the earth “from the yellow” and take millions of lives.”

And Nostradamus said: “The great plague of the maritime city. Will not cease until there be avenged the death. Of the just blood, condemned for a price without crime. Of the great lady outraged by pretence.”

Of course, there were “experts” on the Internet, who interpreted all the incomprehensible moments: “the great lady outraged by pretence” is the former health minister of China Wu Yi, who organized the fight against SARS in 2003; the “blood, condemned for a price without crime” is about the murder of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi or the persecution of the Uighurs accused of separatism.
